LIVING IN MISSISSAUGA VALLEYS

 

Mississauga Valleys is a family oriented neighbourhood with a good selection of schools, a community centre, lots of parks and greenspace, easy access to public transit and commuter highways City Centre and a wide assortment of housing options that are affordable by Mississauga standards. This neighbourhood is conveniently located very close to the the Mississauga City Centre.

 

HISTORY OF MISSISSAUGA VALLEYS

 

Mississauga Valleys was a planned subdivision constructed in the early 1980s. It was somewhat unique in that it was built around a central ring road designed to connect the entire neighbourhood. However, the housing was not built to be uniform as the west side of Mississauga Valleys contains high-rise, “tower-in-the-park” apartment blocks while the east side contains predominantly single family homes.

 

HOMES IN MISSISSAUGA VALLEYS

 

Mississauga Valleys has a nice selection of starter homes ranging from typical subdivision detached and semi-detached homes to split-level homes and townhouses. There are also a large number of high-rise apartment buildings situated in a pretty park like setting along Mississauga Valley Boulevard. Mississauga Valleys streets are family friendly as they are set out in a curvi-linear street pattern with sidewalks. The houses and lots are average in size. Most of the homes in this neighbourhood have a single or double car garage out front.

RECREATION IN MISSISSAUGA VALLEYS

 

Mississauga Valley Community Centre and Library located at 1275 Mississauga Valley Blvd., provides residents the opportunity to participate in a wide array of programs that are geared to all age groups and many different cultures. Situated within the facility is the fully-equipped Terry Fox Fitness Centre, amenities include: Cardio and Conditioning equipment, Aerobic Studio offering group exercise classes, 2 Squash Courts and Personal Training. The Terry Fox Pool is a 25 metre, 6 lane, rectangular pool with a therapeutic tank beside the main pool.  Mississauga Valley Arena hosts a wide variety of programs including Learn to Skate, Ice-Hockey, Public Skating and more. The arena houses a 180′ x 80′ single ice pad, Seating for up to 375 spectators, 6 dressing rooms and a snack bar.

 

The Mississauga Valley Community Centre’s other popular amenities include the Mississauga Valley Library, meeting rooms for hosting events and a gymnasium for sports and leagues such as basketball, volleyball, soccer and badminton.

 

Mississauga Valley Park has tennis courts, sports field, baseball diamond, a children’s playground and splash pad. There are also walking paths and picnic areas.

 

ARTS IN MISSISSAUGA VALLEYS

 

The Living Arts Centre located at 4141 Living Arts Drive, is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that operates the premiere arts and culture facility located in the heart of Mississauga. A dynamic and accessible gathering place for creativity, the Centre welcomes more than 400,000 discerning and culturally diverse visitors annually. The Living Arts Centre is dedicated to being a place for global engagement in the arts, housing a stunning landmark atrium, three presentation-ready theatres, seven professional craft studios, and an attractive in-house restaurant and burgeoning catering operation. Now celebrating its 20th Anniversary, the Centre plays host to hundreds of performing arts, educational, community, and corporate events and activities each year, continuing its mission to promote Arts for Life.

 

TRANSPORTATION IN MISSISSAUGA VALLEYS

 

MiWay operates bus service along Burnhamthorpe, Eglinton and Hurontario. The 400 series highways are easily accessible form here. Pearson International Airport is just a few minutes away.
